Dr Pavel Litvinov (Pavlo Lytvynov) received M.S. degree in physics and astronomy with honors from Kharkiv National University (Ukraine) in 1995 and Ph.D. degree in optics and laser physics in 2000. After Ph.D. defense he had been working first as a scientist and then as senior scientist at the Institute of Radio Astronomy (RIAN) in Kharkiv, Ukraine. During the working period at RIAN his scientific works were devoted to the developments of new models and methods for electromagnetic scattering, radiative transfer and their applications in remote sensing of Earth and Solar system planets. In 2008 he joined the Netherlands Institute for Space Research (SRON) in Utrecht as a Research Scientist where he focused on surface and aerosol characterization from polarimetric remote sensing measurements. In 2011 he continued his scientific carrier as a Research Scientist at the Laboratoire d’Optique Atmospherique, CNRS/Universite de Lille, France. From 2016, he is chief scientific officer at GRASP-SAS company leading number of scientific projects on Earth remote sensing studies and developments.
