Thierry Marbach is currently working as optical imaging scientist at the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), with a focus on polarimetry missions. He is Mission Scientist and Science Advisory chair for the 3MI instrument (Multi -View -Channel -Polarisation Imaging mission). He is also developing the 3MI level-1 retrieval and the level-2 retrieval for aerosol parameters as well as the associated Cal/Val activities e.g. through consolidating EUMETSAT’s needs for Fiducial Reference Measurements for aerosol products. Formerly, he had a position at the Max-Planck Institute for Chemistry on satellite trace gas retrievals with focus on formaldehyde (HCHO) using GOME, SCIAMACHY and GOME-2.
