Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Shanghai, China

Professor Chen is with the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics and is the director of Key Lab for Space laser communication and detection System, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is member of Chinese optical engineering Association. He has been involved in developing space laser and atmospheric and oceanographic laser remote sensing system. As group leader, His group developed all space lasers for Chinese lunar explorers and Chinese Mars explorer. His group has developing spaceborne lidar called ACDL for measuring atmospheric aerosol and carbon dioxide. High spectrum resolution and polarization detecting technology for aerosol detecting, and the integrated path differential absorption method for carbon dioxide measuring was utilized in ACDL. The lidar will be launched in this year. He also developed several ocean lidar remote sensing system for ocean bathymeter, optical properties profile, and chlorophyll profile. He was awarded the second national prize of technology innovation.
